| Remark : | Some rip from www.whiskyweb.com : Until the bridge at Craigellachie was built by Thomas Telford in 1814, the ford across the Spey at Easter Elchies was one of the few on the river. It was much used by cattle drovers, and whisky distilled at the old farm distillery which preceded the licensed distillery was a popular feature of the river crossing for them. Macallan, although now a public limited company, was until recently, controlled by the successors of Roderick Kemp who purchased it in 1892. Even today they are much involved in the business. The distillery was extended in the early 1950s and again in 1959, but the demand for Macallan fillings was such that it was doubled from six to twelve stills in 1965, increased to eighteen in 1974 and to twenty-one in 1975. The Macallan, Single Highland Malt
The Macallan er en anden af de højest vurderede Malts i verden. Dette skotske "Whisky slot" ligger i Speyside, og derfor har "The Los Angeles Times" kaldt den for "The Château Margaux of Single Malts". The Macallan lagres udelukkende på sherryfade. Dette giver en unik aroma og fyldige honning og sherry noter i smagen. Findes i 12 års, 18 års og som 25 års. Visse steder finder man også vintage / årgangs whiskies. |

Der var engang ovre i Skotland, at Mr. McAlan tog sin hel del yngre ven McAlder med ned på sin favoritpub, hvor han var en meget trofast tilbeder af den rødhårede tjenerpige, der stod bag disken.
Mens McAlan var midt i sin whisky, blev han nødt til at træde af på naturens vegne.
Den rødhårede skønhed, der ikke havde noget imod en flirt, smilede forførende til McAlder og kaglede:
- Nu har du chancen!
- Jeg ser det, sagde McAlder straks - og i et drag tømte han McAlan's whisky.
