Society tastings are very enjoyablea chance to meet other members, entertain friends and clients and an opportunity to taste the pick of the current bottlings. Being members of a society, everyone is very open and friendly. There is no stuffiness and you are not expected to know anything about whisky, although it does help if you enjoy it!
You will be invited to sample five contrasting Society malt whiskies. Society staff will be there to welcome you and to talk you through the whiskies you will be tasting and biscuits and cheese will be provided to sop up some of the alcohol.
If you really enjoy a particular whisky, you will be able to take a bottle home with you as all the malts tasted will be on sale during the tastingswith the collect discount of £2 per bottle. A selection of the gift items will also be available.
Designated drivers are also welcome to attend at the nominal charge of £7.50. This covers biscuits and cheese and also a soft drink. |
The venues are often unusual; Malone House in Belfast, The Pump House Museum in Manchester, The Piping Centre in Glasgow, the Crypt of St. Ethelreda's Church in London to name but a few. Over the year, The Society hosts over 60 members' tastings around the country. We are always keen to try new venues, provided they are well enough supported by members and their guests, so feel free to call us if you would like to arrange an event in your area or if you would like to suggest an appropriate venue. |
