| The web-site of the Scotch Malt Whisky Society presently collects no personal information about visitors. We do log IP addresses to monitor site usage. However, these addresses are aggregated only on the highest level domains (e.g., .com, .uk, .net) and hence provide no information about individual visitors. We presently do not use cookies. However, we will do so in a forthcoming "members only" section. Cookies will allow you to sign in just once, rather than each time you access a members-only page. If you join the Scotch Malt Whisky Society, we will enter you in our membership database. Your membership entitles you to receive the Society Newsletter, Bottling Lists and occasionally other Society publications. If you cancel your membership, you will not receive any further mailings from the Society. We never sell information about our members to third parties. In the future, we plan to allow online membership applications. When we implement this service, we will update this privacy statement accordingly. |
