Die Insel Islay ist durch ihre intensiven Malt Whiskys berühmt. Gerne werden die Malts von Islay zum Blenden mit Grain Whisky verwendet, da die intensiven Malts, auch sparsam zugesetzt, dem Blend zu seinem Geschmack verhelfen. Ein Islay Malt darf in keinem Blend fehlen.

Die hier beschriebenen Brennereien zeigen detailliert die Single Malt Herstellung auf Islay.

Nur die Islay Whiskys von Bruichladdich und Bunnahabhain sind nicht rauchig.

Die Jura Brennerei gehört eigentlich zu den Highlands. ich zeige sie aber wegen ihrer räumlichen Nähe zu Islay auf dieser Karte.

The Isle of Islay became famous by its intense malt whiskys. They are gladly used for the blending with grain whisky, because they provide good taste, even if you use them sparingly. An Islay malt should be included in every blend.
