Sie erreichen die Midleton Brennerei auf der Straße von Cork in Richtung Osten auf halbem Weg nach Youghal. Weit ist die alte Midleton Brennerei zu sehen, wogegen sich die neue Anlage hinter Bäumen versteckt. Die Brennereien liegen am Dungourney Fluß, der früher auch für die Krafterzeugung verwendet wurde. Heute wird das Wasser nur noch für Kühlzwecke eingesetzt.

Midleton hatte schon immer Pot und Column Stills, aus denen sie unterschiedliche Whiskey produzieren konnte. Midleton rühmte sich auch der größten Pot Still der Welt (>125000 Liter) und auch die sich heute in Betrieb befindlichen Pot Stills haben ein immenses Volumen von je 75000 Liter.

Midleton ist nach dem Zusammenschluß der irischen Brennereien das Herz der inländischen Whiskey Produktion geworden. Zunächst erfolgte jedoch der Zusammenschluß in Dublin, wo Jameson und Power & Son ihre Fabriken hatten. Erst später verlagerte man die gesamte Produktion in die neue Brennerei nach Midleton, wohin auch die Produktion des Paddy aus Cork verlagert wurde. Der Standort Midleton wurde mit Column Stills und Pot Stills ausgebaut.

In Midleton wird auch der Whiskey für den berühmten Bailey's Irish Cream Likör hergestellt.

The Midleton distillery is situated halfway on the road from Cork to Youghal in the east. The old Midleton distillery is visible from far; the new distillery hides between the trees. Both distilleries lie on the banks of the Dungourney river. The water from the river was used for power generation. Today the water is still used for cooling purposes.

Midleton owns pot and column stills, with which they are able to produce a broad mass of different whiskeys. Midleton boasted itself with the biggest pot still of the world (>125000 litre) and the 75000 litres pot stills of today are still among the biggest of the world.

Midleton has become the heart of the Irish whiskey production after the merger of all the Irish distilleries. The merger began in Dublin, where Jameson and Power & Son had their plants. Later the complete production was transfered to Midleton to where the Paddy production from Cork was also moved. The location Midleton was equiped with column and pot stills.

Midleton also produces the Whiskey for the famous Bailey's Irish Cream Liqueur.
